A police officer and a civilian both injured in a driveby shooting outside a nightclub in Rodney Bay are both in stable condition, according to police sources. The two were both shot in their lower extremity about 4am on Wednesday when bullets came flying from a passing SUV.

The police are currently investigating this incident that occurred just as a party at the local club was winding down. It is not clear who was the intended target of the shooting. More on this story as it develops.

It is time that a different approach is taken in the fight against violent crime. It seems that there is a sense of acceptance of the current situation, my friend suggest that the situation is now beyond epidermic and is now endemic, and that basically there is nothing that can be done.
I totally disagree with my friend in fact Iam of the view that it is about time that the government police and civil institutions take up this challenge. It is time for a non partisan group to be conveyed and the debate started on the type of St. Lucia we want to live in and wish our children to inherit. It is essential that we redress the moral malaise which exist in our society, the every thing goes…

mentality the we are alright secure behind our electronic gates and fences ,dont delude yourselves,.
In the short term there should be a more pro active offence against the criminals by our police force , where are the swamp tactics, where are the lock down of certain areas , where is the use of CCTV,Where is the zero tolerance, where is the use of traffic management to affect transportation of fire arms and other illegal actions. The number of illegal fire arms on the street is an indictment of the police force. To date their best idea is to set up an after school curfew in Castries centre, And what about the PM advisor on security Mr. Regis surely his office should be with an overview…

It is not good enough we have a right to be safe in our communities, we demand better , we demand action.Attorney General, you huff and puff , but no action, Security Advisor to the PM.earn your salary, Commissioner of Police, get grip, redress the balance the criminals are winning.
