Colin Peter. The murder of Colin Peter focused attention on both the good and the dark sides of St. Lucia in 2012. Mr. Peter, although Canadian, had deep family roots in St. Lucia and loved the island and its’ people. His death was one of many lives taken in the rising level of violence. The outrage over it brought an outpouring of sympathy and rage in equal amounts. It caused many to reflect on what type of society they want. Hopefully it will not be in vain.

Darren Sammy – I believe he has done St Lucia proud and shown that out of a small island perseverance and determination brings success. He has shown alot of young people that dreams can be a reality. A true representation of our hardworking Lucian blood.
Yeah, but I think Kenny made more splash for introducing the controversial tax, and people will still be talking about it for years to come.
Kenny Anthony for being the most cunning and two faced political reptile i have ever seen. A political reptile in the sense that he is able to change face to suit his environment.
Whoever initiated the idea of making the Pitons a world heritage site ( back in 2004) deserves a long overdue ‘Person of the Year’ award.
I would say my dad, Jacques Compton! Although he’s gone home to the Lord, he left behind a legacy on the island of St. Lucia and will always be remembered!

Kenny is the person of the year because he brings better days and NICE times to come. If the country suffers under the ambition of the doctor no amount of person of the year celebrations can prop up his mess, besides do you really think a person can be a person of the year. What a stupid concept, what is that anyway? A big ego to match the waist line.
Tripartite, triumvirate, triptychs are three themes that speak to me for this award. The past year saw a passion fueled democratic process rolled out without degenerating into anarchy. Thanks to both leaders of the leading political parties for their civil poise in allowing for a world class transition of power. The leader of the enforcement apparatus continues to herald & advocate a civil approach to the confounding crime situation. His message urging respect for the “force’ is a meaningful gauntlet at a civic minded community to practice their civil responsible of general support of the force. Dr. Jacquilene (Jacquie) Bird of Rise for releasing the results of the recent study on the pight of St lucian Youth and continuing to raise awreness of children’s rights to fight for abolishment of corporal punishment of children and her overall resilience is the struggle for the improvement in the care.
